April Hamato

Not gonna lie, you guys, I’ve been in quite the artistic rut lately. For the past long while, I’ve loved everything I drew and I was so happy with my art, but then it just stopped. I hated everything I did, and I got really frustrated because it felt like my hands just didn’t know what they were doing anymore. I could not for the life of me figure out what happened. And to go from doing so well to just shit, it really knocked me down. And I’ve gone through weird blocks like this before and it is the most God forsaken frustrating thing ever, especially because I’m still working on that comic.

Anyway, I couldn’t decided whether I should try and power through, or step away from my sketchbook for awhile. So I decided, I’ll draw something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile but never really got around to. Which was my idea of Ninja April. Alot of people have done this already, but I still wanted to weigh in. 

I was trying to think of something that an actual ninja might wear. Black, to blend into the night, a hood, to hide her red hair because that would stick out easy, alittle bit of hardware for protection and enhancing fighting, and light enough that it wouldn’t restrict her movement at all. (This is just one idea, I have alot more.)

Kunoichi, beautiful and dangerous, right? 

I don’t know if I’m over my block or not yet, but this was fun to do and I think it helped at least. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either.
